- Initial Training Fee. This is our current Initial Training Fee that is paid to us to help defray the costs and expenses that are incurred in connection with the initial training we provide to you prior to you commencing operating your Franchised Business and for the two years after you commence operation, including the initial training program that you (or, if you are entity, your operating principal) and, if appropriate, manager that you designate to handle the day-to-day operations of your Franchised Business and that we approve (a "Designated Manager").
With that said, our standard franchise offering assumes that you or, if applicable, your operating principal will be directly managing the dayto-day operations of the Franchised Business over at least the first full year of operations.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Spray Net's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Initial Training Fee is paid to the company to help cover the costs associated with the initial training program. This training is provided to the franchisee (or their operating principal, if the franchisee is an entity) before they start operating their Spray Net franchise. The training also extends for two years after the franchise begins operations. If the franchisee designates a manager to handle the day-to-day operations, that manager must also be approved by Spray Net and may be required to attend training.
The FDD states that the Initial Training Fee is $15,000. This fee is paid in a lump sum upon signing the Franchise Agreement. It's important to note that if a franchisee withdraws from or does not complete the initial training program, the Initial Franchise Fee is non-refundable. However, if Spray Net terminates the franchise agreement because the franchisee does not complete the initial training program to their satisfaction, Spray Net may return the Initial Franchise Fee and 50% of the Training Fee in exchange for a release and confidentiality agreement.
This type of training fee is common in franchising, as it ensures that franchisees are properly equipped to operate the business according to the franchisor's standards. The training covers not only the initial setup but also provides ongoing support for the first two years of operation, which can be crucial for a new franchisee's success. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider the implications of the refund policy related to the training fee and ensure they are committed to completing the training program.
