What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Spray Net's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for verifying the accuracy of pricing and paint volume calculations generated by the Spray-Network software. Spray Net is not responsible for the suggested pricing or paint quantities provided within the Spray-Network. The franchisee and their employees must validate and approve all pricing and paint volume recommendations. This indicates that while Spray Net may provide pricing suggestions through its software, the ultimate responsibility for setting prices lies with the franchisee. This allows the franchisee to adjust pricing based on local market conditions and competitive pressures.

This arrangement carries both benefits and risks for the franchisee. The benefit is the flexibility to adapt to local market conditions and adjust prices to stay competitive. The risk is that the franchisee must have a strong understanding of their local market and cost structure to set prices effectively. If the franchisee sets prices too high, they may lose customers to competitors. If they set prices too low, they may not be able to cover their costs and make a profit.

In the franchise industry, it is common for franchisors to provide pricing guidelines or recommendations, but the degree of flexibility afforded to franchisees can vary. Some franchisors may mandate strict pricing policies, while others allow franchisees more autonomy. Spray Net appears to fall into the latter category, giving franchisees the final say in pricing decisions. This flexibility can be a significant advantage for franchisees who are knowledgeable about their local markets and capable of making informed pricing decisions. However, it also places a greater burden on the franchisee to manage pricing effectively.
