Is attendance at Spray Net seminars, conventions, or continuing development programs mandatory?
Spray_Net Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
We may present seminars, conventions or continuing development programs for the benefit of Franchisees. Your attendance at these seminars is mandatory in our discretion. However, you or your Designated Manager must attend any mandatory seminar, convention, or program we may offer and your failure to do so shall be a material breach of the Franchise Agreement entitling us to take interim or contractual enforcement action, including termination. You or your Designated Manager will not be required to attend
any mandatory seminar, convention or program more than twice (2x) per year. We will give you at least 30 days' prior written notice of any seminar, convention or program that are considered mandatory. You must pay for your travel and living expenses incurred in attending any mandatory or voluntary seminar, convention or training program. In addition, we may charge our then current published fee for attendance at any of the seminars, conventions and programs. If you fail to attend any meeting, in addition to our rights, you will still have to pay us the applicable attendance fees.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Spray Net's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, attendance at seminars, conventions, or continuing development programs is mandatory at the franchisor's discretion. Either the franchisee or their designated manager must attend any mandatory event. Failure to attend is considered a material breach of the Franchise Agreement, potentially leading to enforcement action or termination of the agreement.
Spray Net will provide at least 30 days' written notice for any mandatory seminar, convention, or program. The franchisee or their designated manager will not be required to attend mandatory events more than twice per year. Franchisees are responsible for covering their own travel and living expenses for both mandatory and voluntary events. Spray Net may also charge attendance fees for these events, which franchisees must pay even if they fail to attend.
This policy ensures that Spray Net franchisees stay updated on the latest developments and standards within the Spray Net system. However, it also places a financial burden on franchisees, who must cover travel, lodging, and potential attendance fees. The mandatory nature of some events and the potential consequences of non-attendance highlight the importance of budgeting for these costs and prioritizing attendance to maintain good standing with the franchisor.
