What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Spray Net's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Spray Net has the right to access and view a franchisee's computer system without providing any prior notice. Spray Net will at all times have administrative rights to the franchisee's accounting software, such as QuickBooks. The franchisee is required to record all transactions on a computer system designated or approved by Spray Net, and this system must include software that prevents the resetting or erasing of accumulated sales data.
This means that Spray Net can monitor a franchisee's sales and financial data in real-time without needing to inform them beforehand. This level of access allows Spray Net to ensure compliance with the franchise agreement and maintain oversight of the franchisee's business operations.
Furthermore, the franchisee must supply Spray Net with a list of all computer and file passwords associated with the computer system, including any modifications or changes to that list. The passwords to access the computer system and all related files and records are the exclusive property of Spray Net, and the franchisee must provide these files and information upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement. This ensures that Spray Net retains control over the computer systems and data used in the franchised business, even after the franchise relationship ends.
These stipulations are important for a prospective franchisee to consider, as they grant Spray Net significant control over the franchisee's computer systems and data. While this access can help ensure compliance and provide support, it also places a responsibility on the franchisee to maintain accurate records and protect sensitive information.
