What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Southern Steer Franchise Disclosure Document, Southern Steer will provide franchisees with access to its current initial marketing material. This material may include flyers, promo cards, and menus. However, the franchisee is responsible for the cost of printing these marketing materials, and they must use Southern Steer's designated supplier.

This means that while Southern Steer offers a starting point for marketing, franchisees need to budget for the expense of producing these materials. Using the approved supplier ensures brand consistency but removes the option of seeking potentially cheaper alternatives.

In addition to initial marketing materials, Southern Steer requires franchisees to spend a minimum of $15,000 on grand opening advertising and sales promotions within the first 90 days of opening their business. Franchisees may also be required to participate in a Local Advertising Cooperative, contributing up to 1% of gross revenue from the previous month. These local advertising cooperative fees will be applied against the amounts required for local advertising but will be in addition to the Brand Fund Contribution.
