Can Southern Steer operate Southern Steer Businesses from Non-Traditional Locations anywhere?

According to Southern Steer's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Southern Steer reserves the right to operate Southern Steer Businesses from Non-Traditional Locations anywhere. The FDD specifies that this right is reserved to Southern Steer or its affiliates.

A "Non-Traditional Location" includes venues such as transportation facilities, sporting arenas, educational facilities, medical facilities, entertainment facilities, military facilities, food trucks, food trailers, music venues, schools, amphitheaters, and farmers markets. These Non-Traditional Locations are explicitly excluded from a franchisee's protected area. This means that Southern Steer can operate or franchise a Southern Steer Business in these locations even if they are within your protected area.

This reservation of rights has significant implications for prospective franchisees. While franchisees are granted a protected area, this protection does not extend to Non-Traditional Locations. Therefore, Southern Steer retains the flexibility to establish additional outlets in various venues, potentially creating competition within a franchisee's general market area.
