Can the list of Proprietary Ingredients for a Southern Steer franchise be modified?

According to Southern Steer's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Southern Steer reserves the right to modify the list of Proprietary Ingredients from time to time. The FDD states that certain foods, beverages, and products may include proprietary ingredients necessary to meet the franchisor's quality and consistency standards. These ingredients, along with other foods, beverages, and products, can be designated by Southern Steer at any time.

As a franchisee, you are required to purchase and use all brand-name foods, beverages, and products specified in the Brand Manual or in writing by Southern Steer. You do not have the right to use Southern Steer's marks in connection with any foods, beverages, or products that have not been approved by the franchisor. Additionally, you cannot acquire, develop, or manufacture any food, beverage, or product using the Southern Steer name or marks, nor can you access any proprietary formulas, ingredients, or recipes created by Southern Steer.

This means that Southern Steer franchisees must adhere to the ingredients and products specified by the franchisor to maintain brand consistency and quality. The franchisor has the authority to change these requirements, and franchisees must comply with these changes. This ensures that all Southern Steer locations offer a consistent experience and meet the franchisor's standards.
