What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Southern Steer's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee covers training for up to two people. This is a notable benefit for franchisees who may want to involve a business partner or key employee in the initial training process without incurring additional costs. However, Southern Steer retains the right to charge for any training beyond these initial two attendees.
If additional training is needed or desired, Southern Steer charges its then-current fee. Currently, this fee is $400 per day, per person, in addition to covering travel and living expenses. This charge applies if Southern Steer conducts additional training at the franchisee's site, provides extra training at its headquarters, the franchisee requires additional opening assistance, the franchisee requests consulting assistance at their Southern Steer Business, or Southern Steer determines that additional training is necessary.
Prospective franchisees should consider these potential additional training costs when budgeting for their initial investment. It's important to assess the skills and experience of the team members who will be operating the Southern Steer Business to determine if additional training beyond the included two people is likely to be required. Understanding these costs upfront can help in making informed financial decisions and avoiding unexpected expenses.
