What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Southern Steer's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are explicitly prohibited from making copies of the Brand Manual. The Brand Manual remains the sole and exclusive property of the franchisor, and franchisees are only granted access to it for the purpose of operating their Southern Steer Business. Franchisees must also treat the Brand Manual as confidential information and take reasonable measures to keep its contents secret, only granting access to employees who need it for their job duties. Upon termination or expiration of the Franchise Agreement, the franchisee must return all copies of the Brand Manual to Southern Steer.

This restriction is typical in franchising, as the Brand Manual contains proprietary information critical to maintaining brand consistency and operational standards. Unauthorized copying or dissemination of the Brand Manual could compromise Southern Steer's competitive advantage and damage the brand's reputation.

Southern Steer provides franchisees with access to the Brand Manual electronically, through a secure Internet webpage (Intranet), or by another method reasonably adopted by the Franchisor. Franchisees are responsible for keeping their copy of the Brand Manual current and up-to-date, and the master copy maintained by Southern Steer will be controlling in the event of any dispute. This ensures that all franchisees are operating according to the most current standards and procedures.

Franchisees should be aware that Southern Steer may modify the Brand Manual from time to time to adapt to changing market conditions or technological advancements. Franchisees are responsible for implementing any changes, additions, or supplements reflected in the Brand Manual at their own cost within the timeframe specified by Southern Steer.
