What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Southern Steer Franchise Disclosure Document, Southern Steer franchisees have limited rights regarding involvement with other businesses. The franchisee must use the Franchised Location solely for operating a Southern Steer Business and cannot operate or engage in any other business or activity from that location. Additionally, franchisees cannot participate in dual branding programs or any program that uses another trademark, service mark, trade name, or commercial symbol in connection with their Southern Steer Business or at the Franchised Location. This restricts the franchisee from operating any other business, including assisting another business to franchise activities similar to Southern Steer, from the Franchised Location.

However, the franchisor retains certain rights, including the right to offer and sell, and/or license or franchise others to offer and sell, products and services for other businesses and market other businesses to anyone, including prospective and existing franchisees, anywhere within or outside of the franchisee's protected area. This means Southern Steer can engage in activities that might seem competitive or similar to other businesses, but the franchisee is restricted from doing so.

In summary, while Southern Steer retains broad rights to engage with other businesses and franchise opportunities, the franchisee is explicitly restricted from operating other businesses from the Franchised Location or engaging in dual branding. This ensures that the franchisee's focus remains solely on the Southern Steer business and protects the brand's integrity and consistency.
