- 30.44. Website. "Website" means the website page Franchisor licenses to Franchisee for use in identifying Franchisee's Southern Steer Business on the Internet.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Southern Steer Franchise Disclosure Document, the definition of the Protected Area is found in Attachment A of the Franchise Agreement. Specifically, Attachment A describes the area where the franchisee has the right to locate their Southern Steer business. Once the franchised location has been determined, the street address, city, and state will be inserted into Attachment A and signed by both Southern Steer and the franchisee.
Attachment A specifies that the Protected Area is a five-mile radius around the franchised location. This means that, subject to certain exceptions, Southern Steer will not operate or franchise another Southern Steer business within that five-mile radius.
It is important to note that Southern Steer retains certain rights within the Protected Area, as detailed in Sections 1.2 (b)-(g) and Section 1.6 of the agreement. These rights include the ability to use the System for Southern Steer businesses outside the Protected Area, offer and sell products under other names, and operate Southern Steer businesses from Non-Traditional Locations anywhere. Additionally, if a franchisee fails to meet minimum gross revenues, Southern Steer may decrease or modify the Protected Area, or even operate or license others to operate Southern Steer Businesses within it.
