What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Southern Steer Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must open their Southern Steer business to the general public by the Required Opening Date, which is specified in Attachment A of the Franchise Agreement. This date is a critical deadline, and failure to meet it could result in a breach of the agreement.
Prior to this Required Opening Date, the franchisee (or the Operating Principal) and the Designated Manager must complete the Initial Training Program, which is provided by Southern Steer to educate and familiarize them with the System and operations. This training program, lasting up to two weeks, must be satisfactorily completed no later than 30 days before the scheduled Required Opening Date. The location of the training will be at Southern Steer's headquarters or another designated location.
Furthermore, the franchisee must schedule the grand opening of their Southern Steer Business on a date specified in writing by Southern Steer and comply with all standards and specifications related to the grand opening as detailed in the Brand Manual. Within 90 days of opening to the public, the franchisee is required to spend a minimum of $15,000 on grand opening marketing, advertising, and promotions, and provide an accounting of these expenditures to Southern Steer within 30 days of request. Therefore, the "Required Opening Date" in Attachment A is a key contractual obligation for all Southern Steer franchisees.
