What constitutes Competitive Activity that would cause immediate termination of the Southern Steer franchise agreement?

According to the 2025 Southern Steer Franchise Disclosure Document, Competitive Activity is specifically defined. Competitive activities include offering products and services that are the same as, similar to, or competitive with a Southern Steer Business. This means a franchisee cannot operate a similar business that directly competes with Southern Steer's offerings.

Additionally, Competitive Activity includes operating a business or selling goods or providing services that features butcher, specialty grocer, marinated meats, or food preparation classes. It also encompasses businesses that employ or incorporate one or more distinctive elements of the Southern Steer system. This broad definition aims to protect Southern Steer's unique business model and brand identity.

Southern Steer emphasizes that engaging in any of these Competitive Activities, unless expressly authorized in writing by Southern Steer, is a violation of the franchise agreement. Such a violation would be considered an unfair method of competition and could hinder the franchisee's ability to focus on and manage their Southern Steer Business effectively. This non-compete clause is in effect during the Initial Term and any Interim Period of the franchise agreement.
