What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Southern Steer Franchise Disclosure Document, state statutes, regulations, and court decisions may supersede the provisions of the Franchise Agreement in certain areas of the franchisee's relationship with Southern Steer. Specifically, these state-level rules can take precedence regarding the termination and renewal of the Southern Steer Business.
This means that while the Franchise Agreement outlines the conditions and processes for termination and renewal, state laws could modify or override those provisions. For example, a state law might provide franchisees with greater protection against termination than what is stipulated in the Franchise Agreement. Similarly, state regulations could impose additional requirements or conditions for franchise renewal that are not covered in the agreement.
Prospective Southern Steer franchisees should be aware of the potential impact of state laws on their franchise agreement, particularly concerning termination and renewal. It would be prudent to consult with a legal professional familiar with franchise law in their specific state to understand how these state-specific regulations might affect their rights and obligations under the Southern Steer Franchise Agreement. This due diligence can help franchisees anticipate and navigate any discrepancies between the agreement and applicable state laws, ensuring they are fully informed about their franchise relationship.
