What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Punch King Fitness's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must submit all advertising and promotional materials to Punch King Fitness for approval before use. This includes any materials displaying Punch King Fitness's marks. Franchisees must receive written approval or disapproval within 15 days of submission. Failure to obtain prior written approval prohibits the franchisee from using the advertising or promotional materials. Punch King Fitness retains the right to use and own any advertising developed by the franchisee.
This requirement ensures that all advertising and promotional activities align with the brand's standards and guidelines. It allows Punch King Fitness to maintain consistency in its messaging and protect its brand image. Franchisees should factor in this approval process when planning their marketing campaigns to avoid delays.
Additionally, franchisees are required to participate in any gift certificate, loyalty program, and gift card administration programs that Punch King Fitness designates. Franchisees must also honor all coupons, gift certificates, loyalty promotions, gift cards, and other programs or promotions directed by Punch King Fitness. Franchisees cannot create, honor, accept, or issue any gift certificates or gift cards unless they have been issued or approved by Punch King Fitness. Similarly, franchisees cannot issue, honor, or accept any coupons or discounts unless approved by Punch King Fitness in writing.
Furthermore, franchisees must spend sufficient resources on local advertising to promote their Punch King Fitness franchise. While the FDD suggests spending $100 per month on local advertising, franchisees should consider factors such as local media costs, the location of the franchise, and customer demographics when determining their advertising budget. It is also recommended to spend between $2,500 and $3,500 on grand opening advertising during the first three months of operation.
