What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Punch King Fitness's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Punch King Fitness does review the design plans for a franchisee's site. However, the franchisee is responsible for retaining a licensed architect and obtaining a feasibility study from a qualified third party. Punch King Fitness provides building specifications for the real property space.
Site approval by Punch King Fitness is required, and to obtain this approval, franchisees must provide all necessary information and documents about the site. Punch King Fitness will consider factors such as the general location, neighborhood, competition, trade area demographics, traffic patterns, parking, size, physical characteristics of existing buildings, and lease terms when approving sites. The franchisor has 30 days to approve or disapprove a proposed site after receiving all required documents and information.
Furthermore, franchisees are responsible for ensuring the site premises conform to local ordinances and building codes and for obtaining any required permits for construction, remodeling, or decorating. Punch King Fitness may offer assistance to ensure compliance with local ordinances and building codes or to obtain required permits, but they are not obligated to do so. Securing a suitable site and obtaining Punch King Fitness's approval is a critical step, as failure to do so within specified timeframes (1 month from signing the Franchise Agreement) can lead to termination of the agreement.
