What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Punch King Fitness's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must designate a full-time, on-site manager for their franchised business. This manager must be approved by Punch King Fitness and must dedicate their full-time efforts to operating the franchise.
The designated manager is required to successfully complete Punch King Fitness's initial training program. This ensures they are well-versed in the brand's operational standards and customer service protocols. The training program covers various aspects such as customer service, operational and financial management, computer software use, and advertising and marketing procedures. The training lasts up to 2 weeks, depending on the manager's experience level, and may be held at locations such as Cape May Court House, San Jose, California, or New Jersey, or virtually. The franchisee is responsible for covering all travel and lodging costs associated with the manager's initial training.
Additionally, the on-site manager must sign a confidentiality, non-solicitation, and non-competition agreement that is satisfactory to Punch King Fitness. This agreement protects Punch King Fitness's interests by preventing the manager from disclosing confidential information, soliciting employees or customers, or competing with the franchise during their tenure and for a period of two years within 25 miles of any Punch King Fitness franchise territory after the agreement's expiration or termination. While the manager is not required to have an ownership stake in the franchise, these requirements ensure that a qualified and committed individual is managing the day-to-day operations of the Punch King Fitness location.
