What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Punch King Fitness's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Punch King Fitness provides building specifications for the franchisee's real property space and reviews the franchisee's design plans. However, the franchisee is responsible for retaining a licensed architect and obtaining a feasibility study prepared by a qualified third party. Punch King Fitness does not select the site for the franchise. The site is subject to Punch King Fitness's approval, and the franchisee must provide all required information and documents about the site to obtain approval. Punch King Fitness considers factors such as general location, neighborhood, competition, trade area demographics, traffic patterns, parking, size, physical characteristics of existing buildings, and lease terms when approving sites. Punch King Fitness has 30 days to approve or disapprove a proposed site after the franchisee submits all required documents and information.

The franchisee is responsible for conforming the site premises to local ordinances and building codes and obtaining any required permits for construction, remodeling, or decorating the site premises. Punch King Fitness may, but is not obligated to, provide assistance to ensure that the site conforms to local ordinances and building codes or obtain any required permits for construction or remodeling.

These stipulations apply not only to the initial site selection but also in the event of relocation, remodeling, or updates to the franchise location. This means franchisees must continually adhere to Punch King Fitness's building specifications and design plan reviews throughout the duration of the franchise agreement.
