What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Punch King Fitness's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must initially provide evidence of the required insurance at least 10 days before beginning the operation of their Punch King Fitness franchise. Furthermore, the franchisee must provide a renewal certificate no later than 10 days before the expiration date of each policy.
The required liability insurance policy must name Punch King Fitness as an additional insured. This protects the franchisor from potential liabilities arising from the franchisee's operations. The policy must also stipulate that Punch King Fitness receives at least 30 days' notice before any cancellation, modification, or amendment to the policy. This advance notice allows Punch King Fitness time to ensure continuous coverage and address any potential gaps.
The franchisee is responsible for maintaining various types of insurance, including General Liability in the amount of $1,000,000, Workman's Compensation, Unemployment Compensation, disability insurance, social security, and other similar insurance coverage as required by applicable law. The franchisee's obligation to maintain these insurance policies ensures compliance with legal requirements and provides financial protection against potential liabilities and employee-related claims. Meeting these insurance obligations is a critical aspect of operating a Punch King Fitness franchise and maintaining a sound business operation.
