What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Pump It Up's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Initial Franchise Fee, which can be up to $30,000, may be refundable in limited circumstances. Item 5 of the FDD provides further details regarding the conditions for a potential refund. However, the FDD does not specify the exact conditions that would warrant a refund of the initial franchise fee.
Pump It Up may also, at its discretion, waive, reduce, or change the amount or payment date for any fee payable to them. These adjustments are made on a case-by-case basis, without a set formula. Factors considered may include the franchisee's experience, previous relationships with Pump It Up or its affiliates, or unique circumstances such as departing from another franchise system.
It's important to note that Pump It Up is not obligated to negotiate with prospective franchisees, even if they possess similar characteristics to those who received modified agreements in the past. The franchisor also retains the right to waive the Initial Franchise Fee entirely. Prospective franchisees should inquire directly with Pump It Up about the specific conditions under which the Initial Franchise Fee may be refundable and the factors considered for fee adjustments or waivers.
