Answer from 2025 FDD Document

  • (5) Dependent on restrictions we may identify for purchasing products and services from our Designated Vendors and/or Preferred National Vendors, you may also purchase products, equipment, materials, supplies and services from a vendor in the geographic area near your Premises (a "Local Vendor").

All such purchases from any such Local Vendors should be high quality and up to our System Standards.

We reserve the right to override your decision to use a Local Vendor if we determine, in our sole discretion, that the Local Vendor does not meet the high expectations of the System Standards.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Pump It Up's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may purchase products, equipment, materials, supplies, and services from a Local Vendor, which is defined as a vendor in the geographic area near the franchise's premises. However, Pump It Up retains the right to override a franchisee's choice of a Local Vendor.

Pump It Up can override the franchisee's decision if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the Local Vendor does not meet the high expectations of the System Standards. System Standards include suggested specifications, best practices, standards, operating procedures, general guidance, ongoing advice, and consultation. These standards apply to various aspects of the Pump It Up Business, including the franchised site, premises, leasehold improvements, interior finish, interior décor, furnishings, equipment, products, product formulas, supplies, materials, inventory type, technical equipment standards, client relations, marketing techniques, written promotional materials, advertising, accounting systems, and service delivery methods.

This provision allows Pump It Up to ensure consistency and quality across all franchise locations by maintaining control over the vendors used by franchisees. While franchisees have the flexibility to choose local vendors, they must ensure that these vendors meet Pump It Up's standards. This protects the brand's reputation and the overall customer experience. Prospective franchisees should carefully review the System Standards to understand the criteria that Local Vendors must meet to avoid potential conflicts with Pump It Up's vendor preferences.
