What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Pump It Up FDD, franchisees are responsible for maintaining the safety standards of their franchised business. Pump It Up emphasizes that every detail of the franchised business, including cleanliness and safety standards, is essential for preserving the goodwill of the Pump It Up brand.
Prior to opening, franchisees must ensure their location complies with all applicable laws, codes, and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Franchisees are responsible for preparing a site survey and construction plans that meet these requirements. Pump It Up may provide suggested layouts, but it is the franchisee's duty to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory standards. Pump It Up retains the right to inspect the premises during construction to confirm compliance.
Pump It Up franchisees are also responsible for managing their staff and ensuring they meet high ethical standards, especially when working with children. This includes conducting background checks and complying with all state and local laws regarding staffing and on-premises management. Franchisees must also maintain appropriate insurance coverage for any loss, damage, injury, or death occurring on the premises. If Pump It Up identifies any safety issues, they may require the franchisee to make necessary repairs or alterations, potentially including temporary closure of the business.
