What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Pump It Up's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must receive written notice of non-objection to their preliminary design drawings from the franchisor's design team before starting construction. This process begins with the franchisee submitting preliminary design drawings of their Pump It Up Business to the design team for review. A design review fee of $2,000 is required for this review, although Pump It Up reserves the right to reduce or waive this fee at their discretion.
Once the design team approves the preliminary drawings, the franchisee can then send the drawings to their chosen architect of record to prepare the construction drawings. The FDD also states that the franchisee must retain a licensed architect to develop construction drawings unless Pump It Up waives this requirement due to the franchisee's experience or if the renovations do not require an architect.
This preliminary design review is a crucial step in ensuring that the franchisee's construction plans align with Pump It Up's brand standards and operational requirements. By obtaining written approval, the franchisee minimizes the risk of costly changes or delays during the construction phase. It also ensures that the final facility meets the franchisor's expectations and is suitable for operating a Pump It Up franchise.
