What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Pump It Up Franchise Disclosure Document, the review of design and construction plans by Pump It Up is specifically stated to be for their own purposes, not the franchisee's. This means that while Pump It Up reviews the plans, it is to ensure that the facility aligns with their brand standards and operational requirements.
Despite Pump It Up reviewing the plans, the franchisee remains responsible for preparing the plans and specifications for construction, ensuring the premises comply with all applicable ordinances, laws, building codes, and permit requirements. The franchisee is also solely responsible for obtaining all required permits, constructing the improvements, and decorating the premises according to Pump It Up's System Standards, including the installation of equipment, signs, and fixtures.
This division of responsibility highlights that while Pump It Up maintains oversight to protect its brand, the franchisee bears the primary burden of ensuring the facility meets all legal and regulatory requirements. A prospective franchisee should therefore engage qualified professionals to develop the plans and manage the construction process, ensuring full compliance and minimizing potential delays or complications.
