Answer from 2025 FDD Document

y Arevalo, our Senior Marketing Manager, has been with us since March 2018 and provides marketing training (Ms. Arevalo has over 5 years of marketing experience).

The initial training program is mandatory for all franchisees. We will not authorize your Franchised Business to open (or, for transfers we reserve the right to halt the operations of the Franchised Business or impose other operational restrictions on the operating business) if you (or your Operating Principal) and your managerial personnel (the person who is managing the day-to-day operations of the Franchised Business), as determined by us in our sole discretion, have not attended and successfully completed our initial training program. Your initial training must be completed after you have signed a lease for the Premises of your Pump It Up Business and prior to the date you open your Franchised Business. You likely will sign a lease at least 3 to 5 months prior to the date you complete construction of your Pump It Up Business (but the timing may be longer if your landlord delays delivery of the Premises to you). If you operate multiple Pump It Up Businesses, you are not required to complete the initial training program more than once unless we, in our sole discretion, determine that it is necessary for you to do so.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Pump It Up's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial training program must be completed after signing a lease for the premises of the Pump It Up business and before opening the franchised business. Pump It Up will not authorize the franchise to open if the franchisee (or their Operating Principal) and their managerial personnel have not attended and successfully completed the initial training program.

For franchisees opening a new location, the initial training program must be completed in advance of opening. However, if a franchisee obtains an operating Pump It Up business by transfer, they must complete the initial training program within 60 days of operating that Pump It Up business, unless Pump It Up specifies otherwise.

The initial training program is mandatory for all franchisees and may be conducted via classroom instruction, hands-on instruction at a Pump It Up facility, or through video conference or other online means, at Pump It Up's discretion. Franchisees are responsible for all travel, living, and other expenses incurred while attending the training.
