Once a Regional Co-op Fund is established in a DMA in which your Franchised Business is located, you shall automatically become a member of such Regional Co-op Fund upon commencement of operation of the Franchised Business if the Regional Co-op Fund is in existence at that time, or no later than 30 days after the date on which the Regional Co-op Fund commences operation.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Pump It Up's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a Regional Co-op Fund is established in the Designated Market Area (DMA) where your Pump It Up franchise is located, you are required to become a member. If the Regional Co-op Fund exists when your franchise commences operation, you automatically become a member at that time. However, if the Regional Co-op Fund commences operation after your franchise opens, you have a deadline of no later than 30 days after the Regional Co-op Fund's commencement to join.

This means that as a Pump It Up franchisee, you need to be aware of whether a Regional Co-op Fund exists in your DMA. If one is established after you begin operations, you must join within 30 days. This membership entails contributing to the Regional Co-op Fund, with the amount determined by the fund members. These contributions are typically paid monthly along with any required statements or reports.

The funds collected by the Regional Co-op Fund are used for purposes determined by a majority vote of the fund members. Pump It Up also participates in the Regional Co-op Fund, with the same contribution basis as franchisees, and has the right to attend and participate in meetings, although they only have a vote if they operate a Pump It Up Business in the area. This structure ensures that franchisees have a say in how the regional advertising and marketing efforts are managed and funded, while also involving the franchisor in the process.
