What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Pump It Up's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the Computer System. Pump It Up may mandate upgrades or changes to the Computer System, and the franchisee must bear the expense of these changes. This includes additions, changes, modifications, substitutions, and replacements to computer hardware, software, telephone and power lines, and other computer and electronic-related facilities as directed by Pump It Up. These changes must be made on the dates and within the times specified by Pump It Up.

Pump It Up may also require franchisees to add memory, accessories, peripheral equipment, or new software to their Computer Systems, or to replace or upgrade elements of the Computer System with a larger system. The franchisee is responsible for these expenses as well. Franchisees must obtain and install new or updated computer or other electronic components within 30 days of receiving notice from Pump It Up. If Pump It Up installs these components, the franchisee must pay the then-current installation fees and any travel, living, and other expenses incurred by Pump It Up's personnel.

This requirement means that franchisees must budget for ongoing technology expenses and be prepared to make necessary upgrades to remain compliant with Pump It Up's system standards. The franchisee is also responsible for ensuring the Computer System is properly protected, operated, maintained, and upgraded. This includes installing and maintaining protection of software and hardware, such as anti-virus, anti-malware, and spam filters/firewalls, and applying all operating system updates as they are published.
