What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Pump It Up Franchise Disclosure Document, upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement, the franchisee must transfer all email addresses associated with any mark to Pump It Up or a third party at their direction. Pump It Up also has the right to set up social media accounts for the franchisee 60 days prior to opening to assist in initial promotion. However, the document does not explicitly state that Pump It Up will assign a business email address to the franchisee during the term of the franchise agreement.
While the FDD outlines the franchisee's responsibilities regarding email addresses upon termination and Pump It Up's right to establish social media accounts, it does not specify whether Pump It Up provides franchisees with a business email address at the start of the franchise term. This is a common practice in many franchise systems to ensure brand consistency and facilitate communication.
A prospective Pump It Up franchisee should clarify with the franchisor during the due diligence process whether a business email address is provided, and if so, what the terms of use and management of that email address would be. This will help the franchisee understand how communication will be managed and maintained within the Pump It Up system.
