- B. Training by You. You must implement a training program (which includes continuing training programs) for employees of the Franchised Business, and you are responsible for the proper training of your employees consistent with the training we have provided you and that is outlined in the Manuals. You may not employ any person who fails or refuses to complete your training program or who is unqualified to perform their duties at the Business in accordance with the requirements established for the operation of a Pump It Up Business.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Pump It Up's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to implement a training program for their employees. The franchisee is responsible for ensuring their employees are properly trained, consistent with the training provided by Pump It Up and as outlined in the manuals. Franchisees cannot employ individuals who fail to complete the training program or are unqualified to perform their duties according to Pump It Up's standards.
Pump It Up also provides initial training programs that the franchisee or the Operating Principal must attend and complete before opening the franchise. If a franchisee obtains an operating Pump It Up business via transfer, they must complete the initial training program within 60 days of beginning operations, unless otherwise specified by Pump It Up in writing. The franchisee is responsible for all travel, living, and other expenses incurred while attending the training.
Pump It Up may also require franchisees or their Operating Principal to attend and complete various training courses periodically. These courses may include conventions, regional meetings, and the Annual Franchise Meeting, which may be held in person or virtually. Pump It Up may also provide training courses via video conference or other online means. The franchisee is responsible for all costs associated with these training courses, including travel and living expenses. Pump It Up reserves the right to charge a reasonable registration fee for such training and materials, even if the franchisee fails to attend.
Furthermore, Pump It Up emphasizes the franchisee's responsibility for recruiting, hiring, and training employees. Franchisees should also require employees to sign a non-disclosure and confidentiality agreement before hiring. Franchisees must conduct appropriate criminal background checks and due diligence on all employees to ensure they meet the high ethical standards necessary for working with children.
