What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Pump It Up's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Pump It Up retains the right to visit and inspect the premises of a franchised business during its construction phase. This inspection is to ensure that the franchisee complies with their obligations related to the development of the business. Pump It Up provides mandatory and suggested specifications and layouts for the Pump It Up Business, including requirements for dimensions, design, image, interior layout, décor, fixtures, equipment, signs, furnishings, and color scheme. Pump It Up may also provide suggested drawings for the overall layout of the premises.
Pump It Up franchisees are responsible for developing the franchised business according to these specifications. They must retain a licensed architect to develop construction drawings that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), local ordinances, building codes, permit requirements, and lease restrictions. Franchisees must send construction plans, specifications, and other plans to Pump It Up upon request for review before construction begins, as well as any revised plans during construction.
This inspection right allows Pump It Up to maintain uniformity and adherence to brand standards across all franchise locations, which is a common practice in franchising. By inspecting during construction, Pump It Up can address any deviations from the approved plans early on, potentially preventing costly rework or non-compliance issues later. This oversight helps protect the brand's image and ensures consistency in the customer experience across different locations.
