What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Precision Door Service Franchise Disclosure Document, the standard transfer fee is $20,000. This fee is payable to Precision Door Service in the event a franchisee sells or transfers their franchise to a new owner. This fee is nonrefundable.
However, the FDD notes a reduced transfer fee of $500 is available if the transfer is to an immediate family member, defined as a spouse or child. It is important to note that siblings are explicitly excluded from this reduced fee eligibility.
Furthermore, the transfer fee is waived entirely if an individual franchisee transfers the agreement to a newly formed legal entity wholly owned by them, established solely for ownership convenience and business operation. In this case, the franchisee must become a guarantor of the business.
