What This Means (2025 FDD)
Based on the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the FDD does not specify requirements for operating a Precision Door Service business during relocation. The document does outline the franchisee's responsibility for finding and securing a site that meets the franchisor's guidelines within the designated territory. The franchisee must also begin operations within six months of signing the agreement, following the completion of the training program and other pre-opening obligations.
However, the FDD does not explicitly address the procedures, approvals, or standards that would apply if a franchisee wishes to relocate their existing Precision Door Service business. The agreement does state that franchisees must construct and equip their franchise location according to the franchisor's specifications and maintain the premises to conform to the standards for new Precision Door Service businesses.
Therefore, a prospective franchisee should seek clarification from Precision Door Service regarding the specific steps and requirements involved in relocating an existing franchise. This would include understanding any potential impact on the territory, additional costs, and compliance with the brand's standards during and after the relocation process.
