What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Precision Door Service franchisees may be required to participate in the franchisor's website, intranet, extranet, or other online communications, potentially at the franchisee's expense. Precision Door Service has the right to determine the content and usage of its website, intranet, and extranet systems, and can establish rules for franchisee participation.
Precision Door Service will post the franchisee's business contact information on its website. However, franchisees are prohibited from independently registering domain names containing Precision Door Service's marks or operating separate websites or social media accounts for their businesses without prior approval from Precision Door Service. The franchise agreement can be terminated if a franchisee registers any domain name or social media account containing Precision Door Service's marks.
Precision Door Service retains all rights related to its website, intranet system, and social media accounts, and may alter or terminate these platforms. Franchisees' conduct on these online platforms, including the use of Precision Door Service's marks and advertising, is subject to the franchise agreement. Franchisees acknowledge that information related to their participation in Precision Door Service's website, social media accounts, extranet system, or intranet system may be considered confidential, including access and identification codes. The right to participate in these online platforms terminates with the expiration or termination of the franchise agreement, and franchisees do not have the right to use Precision Door Service's marks or intellectual property on any website or social media platform without express written approval.
While the FDD excerpt discusses online systems and website participation, it does not explicitly state whether franchisees are required to purchase a specific computer system. A prospective franchisee should clarify with Precision Door Service what specific computer hardware and software, if any, are mandated for operating the franchise and participating in the required online platforms.
