What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Precision Door Service Franchise Disclosure Document, the Indiana Franchise Disclosure Law and the Indiana Deceptive Franchise Practices Law will prevail in the event of a conflict of law. This stipulation is specifically for franchise agreements within the State of Indiana, as outlined in the addendum to the development agreement.
This means that if any part of the standard Precision Door Service franchise agreement clashes with Indiana's specific franchise laws, the Indiana laws will take precedence. This is designed to protect franchisees in Indiana by ensuring that the franchise agreement adheres to the state's regulations.
For prospective Precision Door Service franchisees in Indiana, this addendum provides an additional layer of legal protection. It ensures that the franchise agreement is compliant with Indiana law, which may offer more favorable terms or greater protection than the standard agreement. Franchisees outside of Indiana should be aware that this specific protection applies only to Indiana-based franchises, and their agreements are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
