What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Precision Door Service's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company contributes to the Marketing, Advertising and Promotion (MAP) Fund. Specifically, Precision Door Service states that it will contribute to the MAP Fund an amount equal to the required percentage for each similarly situated company-owned and affiliate-owned Precision Garage Door Service businesses. This means that company-owned locations contribute to the MAP Fund on the same basis as franchised locations.
The MAP Fund is used for various marketing and advertising activities to benefit the Precision Garage Door Service franchise system. These activities include broadcast, print, and digital advertising, creation of promotional materials, marketing research and development, and administrative expenses related to managing the fund. The Manager, which is Neighborly Company, administers the MAP Fund but does not have any fiduciary obligations with respect to the fund.
Prospective franchisees should note that the Manager determines how the MAP Fund monies are used and is not required to spend any specific amount in the franchisee's local area. While the MAP Fund aims to support the Precision Garage Door Service system, there is no guarantee that the benefits will be proportionately or equivalently distributed among all franchisees or affiliated businesses. Franchisees may also be required to participate in local marketing groups (LMGs) and contribute up to 3% of Gross Sales to these groups, with company-owned locations also participating on the same terms.
Precision Door Service also reserves the right to collect Minimum Local Marketing Amounts from franchisees and, in return, provide local promotional materials and services. If a franchise agreement terminates before these materials and services are provided, Precision Door Service may contribute the collected amounts to the MAP Fund. This ensures that marketing funds are consistently used to promote the brand, even if individual franchise agreements end.
