What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Precision Door Service FDD, Precision Door Service has the right to authorize another franchisee to perform services or sell products to customers inside a franchisee's Development Area under certain conditions. Specifically, Precision Door Service can do so if the franchisee refuses, is unqualified, not interested, or unavailable to perform services, or if the franchisee requests assistance, or if a customer specifically requests services from a different franchisee. The franchisee is not entitled to compensation for sales or services performed inside their territory by others authorized by Precision Door Service.

This clause in the franchise agreement means that while franchisees are granted a specific territory, Precision Door Service retains the right to allow other franchisees to operate within that territory under particular circumstances. This could impact a franchisee's potential revenue if Precision Door Service authorizes another franchisee to service customers in their area.

This type of clause is not uncommon in franchise agreements, as franchisors often need to ensure that all customers are adequately served, even if the primary franchisee is unable or unwilling to do so. However, prospective franchisees should carefully consider the potential impact on their business and discuss with Precision Door Service the criteria and processes used to determine when another franchisee may be authorized to operate in their territory. Understanding these conditions is crucial for assessing the potential risks and rewards of investing in a Precision Door Service franchise.
