What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Petro Stopping Center's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must pay an IT Security Fee. Beginning the first full calendar month after the opening date, the IT Security Fee is $100 per month. This fee is subject to an annual increase based on the CPI Adjustment.
Importantly, the FDD states that the IT Security Fee will never be less than the then-current fee, even upon renewal of the franchise agreement. This means that as the IT Security Fee increases over time due to the CPI Adjustment, the franchisee will be locked into paying at least the highest previously adjusted rate.
In exchange for the IT Security Fee, Petro Stopping Center grants access to certain software and data security technology. However, franchisees may be required to pay additional amounts to Petro Stopping Center or third parties for other data security measures not covered by the IT Security Fee.
