Petro_Stopping_Center Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

We will only approve suppliers who demonstrate to our continuing reasonable satisfaction the ability to meet our standards and specifications; who possess adequate quality controls and capacity to supply your needs promptly and reliably; and who have been approved in writing by us and not thereafter disapproved.

We will furnish to you a list of Approved Suppliers.

If you desire to purchase or lease any unapproved product, supplies, service or equipment or purchase or lease any approved product, supplies, service or equipment from an unapproved supplier, you must notify us in writing and request approval.

We have the right to require that our representatives be permitted to inspect the proposed supplier's facilities and test or evaluate the proposed supplier's product, supplies, service or equipment.

We have the right to request that samples be delivered to us or to an independent testing facility chosen by us.

A charge not to exceed the reasonable cost of the inspection and the actual cost of the test will be paid by you or the supplier.

We will, within thirty (30) days of receipt of a completed request and completion of the evaluation and testing, notify you in writing of our approval or disapproval of the supplier and/or the proposed product, supplies, service or equipment.

We reserve the right, at our option, to reinspect the facilities of any such approved supplier and to re-test or re-evaluate any previously approved products, supplies, service or equipment and to revoke our approval upon the supplier's failure to continue to meet any of our then-existing supplier, product, equipment or service criteria, or as otherwise reasonably determined by us.

We and our Affiliates may negotiate group or volume purchasing arrangements with Approved Suppliers.

We and our Affiliates will be entitled to all rebates, bonuses and promotional benefits associated with those programs.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

Based on the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, there is no mention of Petro Stopping Center providing letters of credit (LCs) to its suppliers. The document details the relationship between Petro Stopping Center and its approved suppliers, including the process for supplier approval, the standards suppliers must meet, and the potential for group purchasing arrangements. However, it does not specify whether Petro Stopping Center uses letters of credit as a standard practice when dealing with these suppliers.

Instead, the FDD focuses on the approval process for suppliers, stating that Petro Stopping Center will only approve suppliers who demonstrate the ability to meet their standards and specifications, possess adequate quality controls and capacity, and have been approved in writing. Franchisees are required to purchase products and supplies from Petro Stopping Center or its approved suppliers. Petro Stopping Center retains the right to inspect supplier facilities and test their products, with the franchisee bearing the costs of these evaluations.

Given the absence of any reference to letters of credit, it is not possible to determine from this document whether Petro Stopping Center uses them routinely. A prospective franchisee should directly ask Petro Stopping Center about their payment practices with suppliers, including whether letters of credit are ever used, and under what circumstances.
