Answer from 2025 FDD Document

We do not make any representations about a franchisee's future financial performance or the past financial performance of company-owned or franchised outlets. We also do not authorize our employees or representatives to make any such representations either orally or in writing. If you are purchasing an existing outlet, however, we may provide you with the actual records of that outlet. If you receive any other financial performance information or projections of your future income, you should report it to the franchisor's management by contacting Daniel Walter, at 24601 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, Ohio 44145-5634, dwalter@ta-petro.com; (440) 808-3203, the Federal Trade Commission, and the appropriate state regulatory agencies.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Petro Stopping Center's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Item 19 states that they do not make any representations about a franchisee's future financial performance, nor do they provide information on the past financial performance of company-owned or franchised outlets. They also do not authorize employees or representatives to make such representations, either orally or in writing.

However, Petro Stopping Center may provide the actual records of an existing outlet if a prospective franchisee is considering purchasing it. The FDD also notes that if a prospective franchisee receives any other financial performance information or projections of future income, they should report it to Petro Stopping Center's management, the Federal Trade Commission, and the appropriate state regulatory agencies.

This policy is fairly common in the franchise industry, as franchisors often avoid making specific financial guarantees due to the many factors that can influence a franchisee's success. Prospective franchisees should be wary of any financial projections or promises made outside of the formal FDD, and should conduct their own independent research and due diligence before investing in a Petro Stopping Center franchise.
