What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Petro Stopping Center Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to maintain a current copy of the Petro Stopping Center Manuals. Petro Stopping Center will loan one copy of the Manuals to the franchisee during the term of the agreement, which may be in electronic form. These manuals contain Petro System Standards that Petro Stopping Center prescribes for the operation of a Petro Center, along with information about the franchisee's obligations under the franchise and related agreements. Franchisees must adhere to the standards, specifications, and operating procedures that Petro Stopping Center establishes and revises periodically. Compliance with updates and amendments communicated through newsletters or computer systems is also mandatory.
The Petro Stopping Center franchisee must keep their copy of the Manuals current, whether in hard copy or electronic form, and store it securely at the Petro Center. In case of any dispute regarding the contents of the Manuals, the master copy maintained by Petro Stopping Center at its principal office or on its Computer System will be the controlling reference. Franchisees are prohibited from copying or reproducing any part of the Manuals. If a franchisee's copy is lost, destroyed, or significantly damaged, they must obtain a replacement copy at Petro Stopping Center's then-applicable charge.
Maintaining an up-to-date manual is a fairly standard requirement in franchising. Franchise systems evolve, and it is critical that franchisees stay aligned with the current standards, products, and services being offered. Failing to keep the manuals current could lead to a franchisee operating out of compliance, which could result in penalties or termination of the franchise agreement.
