What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Petro Stopping Center Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must furnish evidence of compliance with specific obligations within 30 days after the effective date of the agreement's expiration or the Notification Date, whichever is applicable. This evidence must be satisfactory to Petro Stopping Center.

The obligations include notifying the telephone company and directory publishers about the termination or expiration of the franchisee's right to use any telephone, telecopy, or other numbers and directory listings associated with any Mark. The franchisee must also authorize the transfer of such numbers and directory listings to Petro Stopping Center or its direction, and/or instruct the telephone company to forward all calls made to the franchisee's telephone numbers to numbers specified by Petro Stopping Center.

This requirement ensures that upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement, all connections to the Petro Stopping Center brand are properly transferred or discontinued to avoid public confusion and protect Petro Stopping Center's brand identity. The franchisee bears the responsibility of providing proof that these steps have been taken, and Petro Stopping Center has the final say on whether the evidence is sufficient.
