What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Petro Stopping Center's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Petro Stopping Center maintains significant control over a franchisee's online presence. Petro Stopping Center may control or designate how franchisees use URLs, domain names, website addresses, metatags, links, keywords, email addresses, social media accounts, and other electronic identifiers. This control extends to all aspects of e-commerce, including customer referrals.
Petro Stopping Center can require franchisees to provide content for e-commerce activities related to the Petro System and restrict e-commerce use to designated platforms. Additionally, Petro Stopping Center can limit advertising activities to only approved electronic names. Franchisees may also be required to coordinate their e-commerce activities with Petro Stopping Center, other Petro Centers, approved suppliers, preferred vendors, and affiliates, potentially incurring expenses to do so.
Furthermore, franchisees might be mandated to participate in Intranet Systems established by Petro Stopping Center and pay associated fees. These stipulations ensure that Petro Stopping Center maintains a consistent brand image and controls the customer experience across all online platforms, but franchisees need to be aware of the restrictions and potential costs associated with these requirements.
