What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Petro Stopping Center Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to acquire and use specific computer systems designated by Petro Stopping Center. These systems must be capable of connecting the franchisee's Petro Center system with Petro Stopping Center's systems, enabling the franchisor to review the franchisee's operational results. The franchisee is responsible for providing their own network and telecommunications services, utilizing technology specified by Petro Stopping Center, and maintaining redundant back-up systems that meet Petro System Standards.
Petro Stopping Center has the right to charge a Computer Systems Fee for any proprietary software licensed to the franchisee, as well as for other maintenance and support services provided by Petro Stopping Center or its affiliates related to the computer systems. The FDD does not specify a fixed dollar amount for the Computer Systems Fee.
Prospective franchisees should be aware that Petro Stopping Center may modify the specifications for any components of the computer system or related services, potentially requiring franchisees to incur additional costs to purchase, lease, or license new or modified computer hardware or software, and to obtain ongoing service and support. It is important for potential franchisees to inquire about the estimated initial and ongoing costs associated with the computer systems, as these can vary and may impact the overall investment and operational expenses of the franchise.
