What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Petro Stopping Center's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must pay a Computer System Installation Fee. This fee covers assistance with the installation and setup of the Computer System and Proprietary Systems before the Petro Stopping Center opens. The standard Computer System Installation Fee is $50,000, and it is nonrefundable.
However, there is a conditional payment plan available if the franchisee also opens a TA Truck Service Shop. In this case, the franchisee pays $30,000 of the Computer System Installation Fee when the Petro Stopping Center opens, and the remaining $20,000 when the TA Truck Service Shop opens. This phased payment option provides some financial flexibility for franchisees who plan to operate both a Petro Stopping Center and a TA Truck Service Shop.
It is important to note that the Computer System Installation Fee is separate from the cost of the Proprietary Systems themselves. The FDD states that franchisees must purchase Proprietary Systems from TA Operating at an estimated cost ranging from $54,000 to $142,000. Therefore, franchisees should budget for both the installation fee and the purchase price of the systems.
