What aspects of the Petro Stopping Center operation might the Petro System Standards address?

To ensure the high standards of quality and service maintained in the Petro Center, you must operate the Petro Center in strict conformity with the Petro System Standards that we provide in the Manuals or otherwise in writing. We may update and revise the Petro System Standards and will notify you of these changes by electronic or written communication (including the Internet). You must review, understand, adhere to and abide by all Petro System Standards. We may modify, add to, or rescind any Petro System Standard to adapt the Petro System to changing conditions, competitive circumstances, business strategies, business practices, technological innovations and other changes we deem appropriate in our business judgment. You must comply with all such modifications, additions, and rescissions.
The standards and specifications we provide to you may include, but are not limited to, any or all of the following:
- design, layout, decor, appearance and lighting; periodic maintenance, cleaning and sanitation; periodic remodeling; replacement of obsolete or worn-out leasehold improvements, fixtures, furnishings, equipment and signs; periodic painting; and use of interior and exterior signs, emblems, lettering and logos, and illumination;

- types, models and brands of required fixtures, furnishings, equipment, signs, computers, software, materials and supplies;

- required or authorized Services and Products and product or service categories;

- designated or Approved Suppliers (which may include us or our Affiliates) of all assets used or usable in the operation of your Petro Center (the "Operating Assets"), Computer Systems, Proprietary Supplies, Motor Fuel, Products and Services.
You must maintain the insurance coverages in the minimum amounts we prescribe in the Manuals. We may periodically increase or decrease the amounts of coverage required under these insurance policies and require different or a
(a) Comprehensive general liability insurance and product liability insurance with limits of ten million dollars ($10,000,000) combined single limit per occurrence, including broad form contractual liability, personal injury, and products completed operations.
(b) All risk (special perils) property insurance, on the Petro Center and all fixtures, equipment, inventory, and real property used in the operation of the Petro Center, for full repair and replacement value, without depreciation or co-insurance.
(c) Commercial automobile liability insurance with a combined single limit of five million dollars ($5,000,000) per occurrence for all vehicles (owned, hired, rental, leased) used in connection with the operation of the Petro Center.
(d) Pollution legal liability insurance with limits of not less than five million dollars ($5,000,000) per occurrence and in compliance with all state, local and federal regulations, which is inclusive of the entire Petro Center and Site as well as all USTs (underground storage tanks), or if the state where located has a tank fund, then coverage for USTs to equal five million dollars ($5,000,000) with excess coverage.
(e) Worker's compensation insurance in amounts required by all applicable laws in which your Petro Center is located.
(f) Employer's Liability insurance, with limits of at least one million dollars ($1,000,000) per accident.
(g) Cyber Risk insurance, with limits of not less than $2,000,000 for each claim, covering claims arising out of or related to (a) investigation of an actual or alleged security failure, privacy event, security breach of other related incident, including but not limited to forensic services, legal counsel, and breach coaching services, breach response, and notification services, call center services, credit and identity theft monitoring and protection services, media and public relations services; (b) business income/business interruption/extra expense; (c) digital and data asset protection and restoration; (d) network security & consumer privacy liability; (e) regulatory defense and indemnification, including fines and assessments; (f) multimedia liability; (g) cyber extortion, including but not limited to the use of ransomware or other malware to compromise your systems; and (h) social engineering or other forms of electronic manipulation that result in covered loss;
(h) Liquor liability insurance (but only if serving or selling alcoholic beverages at the Petro Center), with limits of not less than $3,000,000 for each common cause and $3,000,000 annual aggregate covering bodily injury and property damage if liability for either bodily injury or property damage is imposed by reason of the selling, serving or furnishing of any
alcoholic beverage by you;
- (i) Garagekeepers' liability insurance with limits of not less than $60,000 per occurrence in conjunction with the care, custody and control of vehicles at the Petro Center;
- (j) Such other insurance as is required under any financing document (if any) for the Petro Center or any lease for the premises of the Petro Center; and
- (k) Such other insurance as we may specify from time to time due to identification of risks and available coverages.

According to Petro Stopping Center's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Petro System Standards cover numerous aspects of the business. These standards are put in place to ensure quality and service across all Petro Stopping Center locations. Petro Stopping Center may update and revise these standards and will notify franchisees electronically or in writing. Franchisees must adhere to all Petro System Standards, and comply with any modifications, additions, or rescissions. These standards and specifications provided by Petro Stopping Center may include various elements of the business.
These elements include the design, layout, decor, appearance, and lighting of the Petro Stopping Center. The standards also address periodic maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation, as well as periodic remodeling and replacement of obsolete or worn-out items. This extends to leasehold improvements, fixtures, furnishings, equipment, and signs. The standards also cover periodic painting and the use of interior and exterior signs, emblems, lettering, logos, and illumination. The Petro System Standards also dictate the types, models, and brands of required fixtures, furnishings, equipment, signs, computers, software, materials, and supplies. They also specify required or authorized services and products, as well as product or service categories.
Furthermore, the Petro System Standards address designated or approved suppliers for all assets used in the operation of the Petro Stopping Center. These assets include operating assets, computer systems, proprietary supplies, motor fuel, products, and services. To maintain quality and uniformity, Petro Stopping Center may require franchisees to purchase all items from suppliers who meet the Petro System Standards and have been approved in writing by Petro Stopping Center. These suppliers must demonstrate the ability to meet the standards, possess adequate quality controls, and have the capacity to supply the franchisee's needs promptly and reliably.
Petro Stopping Center also requires franchisees to maintain certain insurance coverages. These include comprehensive general liability insurance and product liability insurance with limits of $10,000,000, all risk property insurance, commercial automobile liability insurance with a $5,000,000 limit, pollution legal liability insurance with $5,000,000 limits, worker's compensation insurance, employer's liability insurance with $1,000,000 limits, cyber risk insurance with $2,000,000 limits, liquor liability insurance with $3,000,000 limits, and garagekeepers' liability insurance with $60,000 limits. Petro Stopping Center may modify the minimum insurance requirements and notify franchisees of changes in writing. All insurance policies must be issued by carriers who are licensed and admitted to write coverage in the state where the site is located and are rated A- or higher by A.M. Best and Company, Inc., with no deductible greater than $500,000.
