Location to our standards and specifications for the appearance, layout, and design of a Bakery, and fully equip and supply the Bakery pursuant to our standards and specifications; and open the Approved Location within two hundred and seventy (270) days after the Effective Date. You must open the Bakery to the public within eight (8) days of receipt of your certificate of occupancy.
- 4.3.1 Plans. You are solely responsible for the preparation of architectural and working drawings necessary to complete construction and/or build-out at the Approved Location and must ensure that the plans meet with applicable ordinances, building codes, permit requirements, and any other applicable local, state, or federal law. We will provide basic layouts. We must approve all architects and plans before you begin construction/build-out. We must approve all subsequent material changes to the plans and drawings before such changes are implemented. We must approve all construction, remodeling plans, specifications, interior and exterior layouts and site plans prior to the beginning of any construction work on your Bakery. You must work with our internal Construction Managers throughout the development process.
- 4.3.2 Architect. We will prepare the preliminary floor plan for your Bakery, with up to three revisions, for a fee of Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars ($750). We will provide you with a list of approved architects for the preparation of architectural and working drawings necessary to complete construction and/or build-out at the Approved Location. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Nothing Bundt Cakes' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for the architectural and working drawings needed for construction at their approved location. Nothing Bundt Cakes will provide basic layouts, but the franchisee must ensure that the plans comply with all applicable ordinances, building codes, permit requirements, and laws.
Nothing Bundt Cakes requires approval of all architects and plans before construction or build-out can begin. Any later changes to the plans also need approval before implementation. The franchisor must also approve all construction, remodeling plans, specifications, interior and exterior layouts, and site plans before any construction work starts. Franchisees are required to work with Nothing Bundt Cakes' internal Construction Managers during the development process.
Nothing Bundt Cakes will prepare a preliminary floor plan for $750, which includes up to three revisions. They also provide a list of approved architects. If a franchisee wants to use an architect not on the approved list, Nothing Bundt Cakes must consent to that architect and may require a final plan review by their prototype architect, which costs $500. The franchisee is responsible for any costs associated with revisions required by the prototype architect. The franchisee must receive written approval of the final plans before starting construction.
