What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Nothing Bundt Cakes's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the length of the franchise term is primarily determined by the Bakery opening date. The franchise term begins when Nothing Bundt Cakes signs the Franchise Agreement and continues for 10 years from the date the Bakery opens. This is a fairly standard initial term length in the franchise industry.
There is an exception to the standard term length. If a franchisee purchases an existing Nothing Bundt Cakes Bakery from a previous franchisee, the term length will be for the remaining unexpired term of the seller's franchise agreement. This means that a new franchisee buying an existing location may have a shorter initial term than someone opening a new bakery.
The Development Rights Rider term depends on development obligations. The franchisee has the option to renew the franchise for one additional 10-year term, but there is no renewal or extension for the Development Rights Rider. To renew, the franchisee must provide notice between 3 and 9 months before the end of the term, demonstrate the right to operate at the approved location, complete a reimage survey, prove financial capability, complete necessary updates to meet system standards, not be in breach of any agreements, satisfy all monetary obligations, complete current training requirements, and execute the current form of the Franchise Agreement.
