What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Nothing Bundt Cakes's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must request a renewal of their franchise if they wish to continue operating after the initial term. To renew the franchise, the franchisee must pay a renewal fee equal to 50% of the then-current Initial Franchise Fee. The timing of this payment is upon the request for renewal of the franchise.
This requirement is standard practice in the franchise industry, as franchise agreements have a defined term. The renewal fee compensates Nothing Bundt Cakes for the continued use of its brand, systems, and support. It also allows Nothing Bundt Cakes to evaluate whether the franchisee has been operating in compliance with the franchise agreement and meeting its standards.
Prospective franchisees should inquire about the current Initial Franchise Fee to estimate the potential renewal fee. They should also understand the conditions for renewal, which may include meeting certain performance standards or completing required training. Failing to request a renewal and pay the associated fee will result in the termination of the franchise agreement, and the franchisee will no longer be authorized to operate a Nothing Bundt Cakes bakery.
