What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Nothing Bundt Cakes's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are explicitly prohibited from registering any variations of the brand's trademarks as internet domain names. Nothing Bundt Cakes retains complete control over its online presence and the use of its trademarks on the internet. The FDD states that franchisees cannot register any marks owned by Nothing Bundt Cakes, including abbreviations, acronyms, or variations that could be confusingly similar, as internet domain names. The brand maintains sole authority over advertising the system online and managing any websites using its marks.

While franchisees are provided an assigned bakery web page to access the Nothing Bundt Cakes website, they are restricted from further online activities. Unless specifically authorized in writing by Nothing Bundt Cakes, franchisees are not allowed to link or frame the corporate website, conduct any business or offer products/services online, or create/register any internet domain name connected to their franchise. This restriction ensures that Nothing Bundt Cakes maintains a consistent brand image and controls the customer experience across all online platforms.

This policy is typical in franchising, as franchisors need to protect their brand identity and ensure uniform marketing practices. By preventing franchisees from registering domain names using the Nothing Bundt Cakes trademarks, the franchisor avoids potential conflicts, maintains brand consistency, and centrally manages online marketing efforts. Prospective franchisees should understand that their online presence will be limited to the web page provided by Nothing Bundt Cakes and any marketing activities approved in writing by the franchisor.
