What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Noodles & Company Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must submit both a space plan and a signage plan for design review and approval. Noodles & Company retains the right to modify these plans upon submission.
Noodles & Company will provide a space plan layout and exterior signage plan for the first three restaurants developed by an Area Operator. However, if the franchisee is an affiliate of an existing area operator who has previously opened Noodles & Company restaurants, this may not apply. For subsequent units, the franchisee is responsible for creating these plans, having received design training and criteria from Noodles & Company.
Noodles & Company commits to reviewing and approving, or approving with changes, the submitted plans within 14 days. All plans and drawings must be submitted electronically, following Noodles & Company's prescribed method. After the space plan and signage plan are approved, the franchisee must then develop construction drawings and specifications by a licensed architect and engineer for building permit submittal. The final plans, including all construction plans and specifications and design specifications, must be submitted for acceptance before starting to develop the premises.
